Our Story
Who are we?
We are Nicole and Jason along with our son, Felix (age 10). We sold our home on our 60 acre property in the Noosa Hinterland and set off roaming Australia, full-time, for as long as it feels right.
We're travelling in our dream exploration vehicle - a 1987 ex-military Mercedes Unimog truck with full off-grid liveable pod.
It is our dream to work on Zilvi and school our son, Felix, on the road.
After years of planning, we have turned this dream into our now.
What is Zilvi?
Our brand's journey started in the basement of our small suburban home in Brisbane. A burning desire to spend our time crafting with timber led us to design our first collection in July of 2014 using only the tools from our shed.
As the brand evolved, we both soon left our jobs to pursue our family business, Jason left his Management role in IT and Nicole, a Wedding and Events Planner.
In 2016 as Zilvi turned two, we decided city life was no longer for us. We turned our dream of moving to the country in to reality. We found 60 acres in the mountains of Kin Kin, a town of just 700 people.
Our studio and timber workshop for the next 7 years was nestled beneath the trees on our mountain where we immersed ourselves in a self sufficient life in our modern homestead, home-schooled Felix and became passionate Beekeepers.
Zilvi is a brand that evokes a loving connection with the Earth through our two collections; Timber Art and Tea.
We design timber art to honour your story. We are there for you during pregnancy, birth, loss and celebrations. Our art is designed with intention and sourced from timber from responsibly managed forests.
In 2021 we introduced our Zilvi Tea collection to compliment our lifestyle. We move throughout our days with intention and choose to really live - to pause and to see the beauty in the things we often miss when we allow the fast pace of life to distract us. And often, these moments can be as simple as stopping and having a cup of tea. To spend time reflecting or to tell a story while we are stopped and present in each others company.
You're part of our story, thank you!
Our family is supported by your purchases of our art, tea and honey. By supporting our brand, it allows us to work on the road as we travel Australia while educating our son, Felix.
This lifestyle is our dream and your welcoming our work into your home is not lost on us, we appreciate you.
Thank you for being here.
We hope to inspire you to turn your dreams into plans.
